Bryan Nykon is a Canadian filmmaker, conflict resolution specialist, and Rotary World Peace Scholar. Bryan holds a firm belief that the arts play a profound role in the formation of beliefs, attitudes, and behaviours. He believes that the mainstream entertainment media industry currently relies heavily on methods of dehumanizing the other and glorifying violence, which nurtures a fear of the other and a belief in the legitimacy of violence as a means of resolving conflict. For the last seven years Bryan has been involved with various film projects around the world. In 2010 he worked at the United Nations’ Department of Public Information creating content for various outreach programs, and in 2011 he taught film to students from Palestine and Israel through the Peace It Together project. |
