Françoise L. Garcia

Supervisor, Club and District Support, Northern Pan America

 

 
 

Françoise Garcia is employed in the Club and District Support department of Rotary International.  Her team works with Rotary clubs and Rotarians in 63 Rotary districts in Northern Pan America, which includes the northern United States, Canada, New England, the  mid-western states, eastern Russia, and Bermuda.

Born in Camp LeJeune, North Carolina, Françoise has lived in France, Camp Pendleton, California, and Chicago, Illinois, during her father’s career with the United States Marine Corps.  She received a BA in French from DePauw University (Greencastle, Indiana), has pursued graduate-level coursework in French at the University of Chicago, taught French at the secondary level, and served as a Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts leader.

In 1991, Françoise joined the staff of The Rotary Foundation as a scholarships coordinator and has been in her present position as an RI service representative for 17 years.  A Paul Harris Fellow, Françoise believes that being a part of Rotary is a life-changing experience.

Her family includes two sons, a daughter, one granddaughter, and “Maggie,” her scottish terrier.  A balletomane and francophile, her interests include interior design,  French cuisine, theatre, reading, antiques, and classical music.
