President-Elect Training Seminar

The Presidents Elect Training Seminar is a training and informational program for the president-elect, planned and organized by the PETS Operating Committee and the District Governors Elect. Its main purpose is to help implement the Rotary International theme for the ensuing year and to motivate the incoming club president in leadership roles in club, district and Rotary International activities. The Rotary International Manual of Procedure states that in order to be president of a Rotary Club, the president elect must attend the District President Elect Training Seminar. Rotary International Districts 5010, 5020, 5030, 5040, 5050, 5060, 5080, 5100, and 5110 sponsor this seminar for their districts.

Seminar Information

The President Elect Training Seminar will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009 through Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the Double Tree Hotel at SeaTac Airport.

District 5010, 5040, 5080 Pre-PETS will be held at the Double Tree Hotel at SeaTac Airport starting on Thursday March 5, 2009. Starting times for each district's PrePETS is shown on the program pages.

Pre-seminar meetings for the PETS Operating Committee, Workshop Leaders, and all Governor categories will be held on Thursday March 5, 2009 and Friday, March 6, 2009. Please refer to the pre-seminar meeting schedule contained in the program section of this web site.

For districts not conducting PrePETS the registration check-in and distribution of seminar materials is on Friday, March 6, 2009 from 12:00 to 2:30 pm. The first meeting for Presidents-elect is on Friday, March 6, 2009 from 3:00 to 6:30 pm with their Governors (all categories). The districts holding pre PETS will distribute their materials at the start of their PrePETS in their pre PETS room.

A general overview schedule of the seminar program is available on the program page. Detailed schedules for each day will be posted in the program section as they become available. These daily program schedules will be provided in printed form with your training materials at PETS check in.

The dress code at breakfast, lunch and workshop sessions is business casual. The dress code at dinner is business attire with suits or coat and tie requested for men and appropriate dress for women.

A reminder that there is no smoking in the plenary sessions or meeting rooms.

The seminar adjourns on Sunday, March 8, 2009 about noon. Hotel room check-out time is 12:00 noon. The hotel provides luggage storage on Sunday morning.
